Mindfulness and Meditation for Educators and Parents

Stress affects everyone at every age and we live in a very busy world. This 2 part workshop will be focused on mindfulness practices for educators and parents. Working with students often means working with variable emotions throughout the day. We will focus on education of short mindfulness practices for students as well as tools for parents and educators to begin their own practice. In learning how we relate to stress we can begin to manage our own responses and appreciate the moments in our lives and with our people.
This workshop will include:
How mindfulness can create patterns of responses vs reactivity.
Simple mindfulness practices for students K-12
Simple mindfulness practices for educators and parents.
Yoga poses for young children to create awareness in their bodies.
Learning to mind your mind.

Mindfulness teaches kids to slow down, to name their feelings and notice how feelings can “pop up” out of nowhere.It provides tools to better manage stress and anxiety, improving a sense of well being in the classroom and at home. This workshop is divided into two parts - each will one hour sessions with a presentation and mindfulness/ meditation practice led by Brandy.
Learn how mindfulness creates presence, calmness, awareness and clarity for yourself, your classroom and your home.
Please bring a pillow and blanket from home.
